The SMLE MKIII is a primary weapon for the Scout class in Battlefield 1.
History[]
Short Magazine, Lee-Enfield, Mk III was introduced into British service in January 1907 and soon became an icon of the British Empire. Its design was only slightly modified from the preceding model, and went on to become the basic rifle of the Brits on the fronts of World War One. As the war continued, the SMLE was modified to cut down on production costs and shedding many of the extraneous features that weren't used by regular troopers. Ultimately, the Mk III would go on to serve in World War II and the Korean War, before production finally ceased in 1953.
