In-Game Text
Adopted in 1908, the P08 was accurate and durable and the most widespread German sidearm during the Great War.
History
An elegant weapon for an uncivilized age, the Pistole Parabellum 1908 was designed by Georg Luger in 1898 and produced by the Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken from 1900 onwards. The younger sibling of the C93 designed by Hugo Borchardt, the Luger P08 was one of the first semi-automatic pistols. Using a toggle-locked action with a jointed arm instead of the usual recoil-operated slide, it was as unique as it was excellent in the field. Accurate and elegant, Lugers enjoyed a lasting popularity well beyond the death of the German Empire.
