May 2017 The most recent Battlefield 1 patch, 1.07, brought a number of big changes across the board, but not all of them were mentioned in the patch notes.
Battlefield 1 received it’s second update in 2017 less than 24 hours ago. Patch 1.07 not only added They Shall Not Pass content, nerf gas grenades and balance multiple weapons, it also included a number of lesser known and hidden changes.
Scrap Exchange lets you exchange some of your Scrap for weapon and vehicle skins. Scrap is earned from scrapping unwanted skins you get in Battlepacks. You’ve always been able to buy Battlepacks using Scrap, but now, you can buy specific skins without going through the RNG.
With each Battlepack revision going forward, there’ll be three skins you can spend Scrap on. You’ll be able to do all this from the new ‘Exchange’ menu, under Battlepacks.
Giant’s Shadow, the map we received towards the end of last year, got a couple of key changes as well. The amount of fog in open spaces have been reduced, to improve viability, something the community has been asking for.
One other interesting feature 1.07 brought, is the ability for non-Premium members to spectate matches playing the new DLC. All they need to do is join servers as spectators and find out for themselves if the DLC is worth buying.
The game also received four new dog tags that do not have unlock requirements. They Shall Not Pass itself comes with a number of new dog tags, though these will require you to play the maps, modes, or weapons they’re attached to.
